Marketplace Marketing Manager

Apartment Therapy is looking for a marketing manager to lead efforts at Apartment Therapy’s Marketplace (formerly known as Krrb.com). The Marketplace is a curated destination to buy and sell furnishings and home decor--think Apartment Therapy meets Craigslist meets Pinterest.

The Marketplace was founded in 2012 and has a vibrant community of buyers and sellers of home decor and furnishings. It recently merged with Apartment Therapy Media (apartmenttherapy.com and thekitchen.com) to become an integral part of their commerce strategy. With 30 million+ monthly global readers between both media properties, the Marketplace is unique positioned to leverage this audience to become of the leading examples of the merging of content and commerce.

The Marketplace is a small and efficient team, so you’ll have significant opportunity to own and drive a wide variety of marketing efforts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all marketing efforts for Apartment Therapy’s Marketplace.
  • Concept, develop, execute, and measure initiatives to increase retention and engagement in the Marketplace.
  • Use industry-standard practices to measure marketing-related metrics to gauge success.
  • Create A/B testing strategies for new ideas and initiatives.
  • Curate and maintain on-site and in-app item listings.
  • Oversee brand, messaging, and look and feel throughout all digital products

 

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably for a startup.
  • Excellent communication skills - our team is largely distributed, so clear and articulate communication skills are important.
  • A self-starting attitude - you’ll have an enormous amount of opportunity to oversee and grow marketing efforts.
  • A strong analytical and data-focused background. Spreadsheets are your second home, SQL proficiency is a plus.
  • A/B testing experience on a fast moving digital product.
  • Experience working on a 2-sided marketplace or ecommerce product.
  • An passion for home decor and furnishings, and a strong interest in media.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
